Item Description

Cockburn's 10 Year Old Tawny is blended from older, mature cask-aged wines and then refreshed by the addition of younger wines. The average age of the wines in the blend is at least 10 years. It exhibits a silky smoothness and is ready to drink on purchase. Cockburn's 10 Year Old Tawny is a light, medium tawny-coloured wine. The aroma is clean, showing a good balance of sweetness and acidity mingled with a soft nuttiness permeating through the rich complexity of its layered flavours. It is silky and delicate on the palate, yet crisp and lively with a soft, mellow background and a good long aftertaste. Overall the style is similar to a fairly mature vintage Port of 30-40 years bottle age. Serve 10 Year Old Tawny Port with cream desserts such as cheesecake, crême brulée or sweet fruit flan, or pecans or almonds and dried fruit. Its delicate flavour may be best appreciated if the wine is served at cellar temperature – or with 15 minutes chilling in the refrigerator. This wine will not require decanting.
